It may seem odd that a company named Thermal Ceramics would have a red and blue "K" for its logo. But, behind the "K" is a legend that, like the logo, has withstood the test of time.
For years, the "K" was used, mostly in-house, as a shorthand identity for Kaowool®-the most heralded product development in Thermal Ceramics history.
In
1978, the "K" was almost
shelved because it was thought that a
"real" logo and identity was needed.
But, regardless of what new logo or identity was proposed, the company kept coming back to the "K." It stood for kaolin-the natural resource without which there would never have been a company-and keramos-the Greek word for ceramics. And, if that weren't reason enough to keep it, the engineering symbol for heat flow is "K"!
